Roy Keane’s odds of becoming next Celtic manager revealed after shock Martin O’Neill update

Celtic could soon be on the hunt for a new manager in the summer despite the recent appointment of Martin O’Neill.

The appointment of Wilfried Nancy at Celtic Park proved to be a colossal failure after he lost six of his first eight matches.

As a result, O’Neill has been brought in to steady the ship until the end of the season, with a potential Scottish Premiership title on the line.

However, Football Insider has recently revealed that O’Neill is not interested in taking up the Celtic job long-term.

Therefore, a new manager will have to be appointed in the summer, with Roy Keane potentially returning to Celtic Park.

Roy Keane 25/1 to take over at Celtic

Keane is still well-loved at the Hoops despite his short spell in Scotland.

The former Man United captain spent six months at Celtic as a player, winning both the Scottish Premiership title and the League Cup in his final campaign on the pitch.

Now, despite not taking up a managerial role since 2011, Keane has continued to be linked to Celtic in recent years, and that has not changed in 2026.

With O’Neill potentially not taking on the Hoops full-time, one bookmaker has tipped Keane to be an outsider to come in at Celtic for the start of the next campaign.

The 54-year-old is currently 25/1 to be Celtic’s manager for the start of the 2026-27 season.

Who is the current favourite to be the Celtic manager next season?

Currently, Roberto Martinez is the favourite to be the Celtic boss next season at 5/4.

The Portugal manager has emerged as a surprise candidate in recent weeks despite his current focus being on the impending World Cup campaign.

Following this is O’Neill at 6/4, alongside his assistant, Shaun Maloney, at 8/1.

A potential return for Ange Postecoglou has not been ruled out at 12/1.

The former Tottenham boss has been out of work for the last few months after his failed short spell at Nottingham Forest.

Following this, a potential outsider includes Robbie Keane, who continues to impress outside of the UK.
