Ruben Amorim facing ‘serious questions’ after Man United sack update
Ruben Amorim is under growing pressure at Man United following a run of disappointing form, according to their former chief scout.
Mick Brown, who spent over a decade at Man United during their most successful period and remains very well-connected there, exclusively told Football Insider that “serious questions” are now being asked about the manager’s position.
While it is still considered unlikely that the boss will be dismissed before the season ends, his future is set to depend on what can be done in the transfer market.
Football Insider revealed on 12 April that Amorim is unlikely to be sacked by United at the end of the season despite the frustrations.
Instead, they will aim to back the manager in the transfer window in an effort to build a squad more suited to his style of play than his current options.
Brown explained that United are preparing to sell the likes of Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho in a bid to bring in funds to further strengthen their side.

Ruben Amorim sack pressure growing at Man United
Brown told Football Insider in February that Amorim is under pressure at Man United given his failure to implement his ideas on the current squad.
The former scout, who has a wealth of experience working closely with elite managers including the likes of Ron Atkinson and Sir Alex Ferguson for over a decade at Old Trafford, insisted that a potential summer overhaul is now on the cards.
“Ruben Amorim is definitely under pressure,” he told Football Insider.
“Serious questions are starting to be asked, because things haven’t been good enough.
“A lot will depend on what Man United can do in the transfer market.
“They’re speaking publicly about how they haven’t got any money, but they’re also preparing to sell some of the current players to raise funds.
“The likes of Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and more have been spoken about.
“But then if they can bring in players who will suit Amorim’s system, you expect things will improve.
“If they don’t or can’t back him in the window, I don’t see how there can be any improvements, and if they do and things still don’t get better, we know what usually happens.
“That pressure is only going to grow and the only way to change that is for results to get better.”

Hugo Ekitike and Victor Osimhen eyed to back Ruben Amorim
As part of their plans to back Amorim during the summer transfer window, United have identified a number of targets better suited to his system.
Football Insider revealed last month that Man United want to sign Hugo Ekitike from Frankfurt and are prepared to rival Newcastle United for his signature.
A new striker has become a priority for Amorim’s side ahead of the window amid concerns about Rasmus Hojlund, with multiple alternatives on their radar.
As well as Ekitike, Brown told Football Insider that Man United are keeping tabs on Victor Osimhen and are confident of beating Chelsea to his signing.
