Ruben Amorim is a ‘brilliant talker’ but he’s hiding after ‘bluffing his way’ into the Man United job
Ruben Amorim’s poor tenure as Manchester United boss took another turn for the worse when the Red Devils were beaten 3-1 by Brentford on Saturday.
Benjamin Sesko’s first Premier League goal reduced the deficit to 2-1, but Man United eventually fell to a two-goal defeat, thanks to Mathias Jensen’s late goal.
Amorim’s men have now lost three of their six games in the top flight, while they were also knocked out of the Carabao Cup by League Two Grimsby Town last month.
Meanwhile, Barcelona are considering their plans to sign Marcus Rashford permanently, thanks to his strong form for the Spanish giants.

Man United tipped to keep Ruben Amorim for the rest of the season
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown exclusively told Football Insider that there is no way back for Amorim at Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, Gary Neville has outlined that Amorim’s upcoming fixture with Sunderland is vital for his tenure.
Contrastingly, speaking live on Sky Sports on Monday, 29 September, former Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood said: “When you ask me if he’s under pressure, I would say no. I feel like he should be, but I don’t think he is. I think they’ll give him this season, I really do.
“He’s already been in the job a year. We’ve seen no improvement. He keeps talking about the three at the back. We’ve talked about different personnel coming in, playing staff. He’s had the windows to bring players in, perhaps he hasn’t got what he wants.
“How many more windows are we actually going to give him, and when are we going to see an improvement? Even gradual, we’re not seeing anything. We’re not seeing any improvement.
“But what we are seeing is a man who sticks his chest out, certainly in the press conferences. When I see him on the touchline, he’s got his head down. He was hiding in the dugout at Grimsby.
“But when I see him in front of the press, he fronts it up. He looks and he talks brilliantly, but he’s probably talked so well that he’s bluffed his way into a job there at Man United because we’re not seeing anything.”
Sunderland form is a major concern for Ruben Amorim
Despite Man United’s increasingly poor form, Amorim is continuing to cling to his position in the Old Trafford dugout.
Man United’s last three results | Premier League |
Man City (A) | 3-0 L |
Chelsea (H) | 2-1 W |
Brentford (A) | 3-1 L |
Both of the North West giants’ two wins in the Premier League this term have come in fortuitous circumstances, as they defeated Burnley 3-2 via a 97th-minute penalty last month, following an unconvincing performance.
The Red Devils’ other victory then came against Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea on 20 September.
Once the Stamford Bridge club were reduced to 10 men for Robert Sanchez’s red card, Amorim’s side scored both of their goals in a 2-1 triumph.
Upcoming opponents Sunderland have what it takes to inflict further problems on Man United, having earned three wins from their first six games back in the Premier League.
If the newly promoted Black Cats get the better of the Red Devils at Old Trafford on Saturday, 4 October, Amorim’s position will be under more scrutiny than ever.
