‘Ruben Amorim loses Man United dressing room after controversial comments’
Ruben Amorim has been warned that his latest comments relating to the ownership at Man United will see him lose the support of his players, by Alan Brazil.
The former Scotland international has suggested that the Red Devils manager could sacrifice the backing of some of his players as a result of his recent claims about job losses.
After INEOS owner Jim Ratcliffe took control of the sporting section of Man United in February 2024, he has taken major measures in an attempt to cut costs at Old Trafford.
Back in the summer, Ratcliffe cut around 250 jobs at Man United as he looked to rectify the club’s financial situation.
There is no set to be another round of job cuts at the club, something which has in part been blamed on the transfer business done by Man United.

Those losses have come amid a loss in revenue at Old Trafford brought about by poor on-field performances that have seen the club miss out on a place in the Champions League.
In response to that, Amorim recently claimed that those losses are partly the fault of the poor performances of his playing squad.
Premier League position | Played | Points |
14. Manchester United | 27 | 33 |
15. West Ham | 27 | 33 |
16. Everton | 27 | 32 |
17. Wolves | 27 | 22 |
18. Ipswich Town | 27 | 17 |
Brazil however believes that such comments were a mistake from the Portuguese boss, that could make it hard for him to keep the squad on his side in the dressing room at Old Trafford.
Speaking on talkSPORT about those claims from the Man United manager, the former Red Devils striker said:
“Do you know what? I like Amorim but when I heard what he said that they’ve got to take responsibility for it, I thought ohhhhh.
“Listen no one wants to see anyone lose their job but to sort of direct, you know a finger pointing at some of the players, the squad that it’s partly their fault for these job losses I though oh no no no no, stay out of that one.”
After Alex Crook then asked if he thinks such comments are “an easy way to lose the dressing room”, Brazil responded: “I think so, I thought stay out of it, it’s not your problem.”

Football Insider Verdict
This is not the first time that the 40-year-old has raised eyebrows with his comments since he arrived at Old Trafford.
Amorim was also questioned over his claims on Marcus Rashford as Man United tried to offload the attacker in the lead-up to the January transfer window.
That brutal honesty from the Portuguese boss is something that can be admired since it gives obsereves a clear view of the situation.
However, his squad are not going to want to be blamed for something as serious as costing people their jobs, so these comments may not go down well behind-the-scenes at Old Trafford.
Given there is still a need for Amorim to pick up results at Man United, comments that may not endear him to the squad he needs to provide those results may not be the smartest of moves.
