Ruben Amorim makes Joshua Zirkzee decision at Man United – sources
Ruben Amorim has given under-pressure striker Joshua Zirkzee a clean slate at Man United after his disappointing start, sources have told Football Insider.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (18 November) that United will not make a knee-jerk decision on Zirkzee’s future.
That is despite reports linking the 23-year-old with a potential return to Serie A with Juventus and Napoli.
Sources say club chiefs feel the Netherlands international is not the only player who isn’t showcasing their best form at present.
United are not blessed with natural strikers and it is believed they will not have the funds to add one to their squad in the January transfer window.
Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen are among the free-scoring forwards to be linked with a move to Old Trafford.
Zirkzee is keen to work with the new Red Devils boss and the feeling is mutual as Amorim attempts to transform their fortunes in the 2024-25 campaign.

He scored on debut for United in the season-opening 1-0 victory against Fulham in August but is yet to score another goal for the club.
The forward’s chances of keeping his place in the lineup will be buoyed by the similarly underwhelming form of Rasmus Hojlund, who has also scored just one league goal.

Zirkzee has been part of the starting lineup on seven occasions this term and has made 17 total appearances for United.
He cost a reported fee of £36.5million during the off-season and signed a contract running until June 2029.
