Ruben Amorim ‘rejects Rasmus Hojlund’ as ‘Man United shirt weighs too heavily’
Rasmus Hojlund’s Premier League future may not be with Man United due to the pressure of playing for the 20-time champions.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson revealed that he believes the 22-year-old has “big pressure on his shoulders.”
The Denmark international has failed to play a full 90 minutes for the Premier League giants since the 2-0 loss against Newcastle on December 30 as Ruben Amorim has begun to reject him.
Rasmus Hojlund has struggled to make an impact at Man United
The striker joined United in the summer of 2023 for £64million from Atalanta on a five-year deal but he has struggled to find his feet in England.
Hojlund has made 73 appearances for the club in all competitions and has scored 23 goals and provided three assists.
Goals have been hard to come by for him this season, only managing to find the back of the net three times in the Premier League.
Rasmus Hojlund may have a Premier League future elsewhere
“I’ve said before I like Rasmus Hojlund, he’s a good player,” Robinson told Football Insider.
“He works extremely hard, that’s one thing you can’t criticise him, the work rate from the front off the ball.
“He doesn’t work cleverly sometimes, he works hard but not always cleverly, he runs into the box.
“He needs a little bit work on his timing into the box.
“There are times where crosses have flashed across the box and he’s not been in places you would have expected him to be at.

“He’s a good player with lot of potential, the weight of the Manchester United jersey is weighing heavy.
“When he does get certain chances, he’s not a bad finisher.
“Maybe that move to Manchester United was the wrong time for him at his age with the pressure and the scrutiny, that’s on Manchester United at the moment.
“The team that’s not playing well, there’s a big pressure on his shoulders.
“Listen, I’m not saying a move away is ideal for him because you take time to settle, but I wouldn’t quite write Rasmus Hojlund off with his future long-term, especially in the Premier League.
“Whether it’s at Manchester United or not, we’ll see.”
