Ruben Amorim to have last laugh after what was said about Alejandro Garnacho at Chelsea
Ruben Amorim should not be blamed for the disappointing departure of Alejandro Garnacho at Man United.
Garnacho was placed in Amorim’s “bomb squad” during the summer, joining the likes of Marcus Rashford, Rasmus Hojlund, Antony, and Jadon Sancho on the sidelines.
While Rashford has exploded into life at Barcelona, and Hojlund the same at Napoli, the same cannot be said for the Argentinian winger, who joined Chelsea on a permanent deal.
He has made 11 appearances across all competitions for Enzo Maresca, but even with two goals and two assists, he is not the first choice at Stamford Bridge despite a £40million price tag.
Alejandro Garnacho has not changed under Enzo Maresca
There was a complete fallout between Garnacho and Amorim after the Red Devils’ Europa League final defeat to Tottenham, and supporters were waiting for the trigger to be pulled on his exit.
It was more a matter of which club, rather than whether he would leave or not. The Blues took a punt on the 21-year-old, and that may have been a mistake.
Concerns have consistently been raised about his attitude, off and on the pitch, and that has certainly not changed since his switch to Stamford Bridge.

Some pundits believed that Chelsea were about to sign a bargain, and that Maresca would be able to get the best out of him, but from what Shay Given has spotted, nothing has changed.
Pat Nevin destroys Chelsea youngster for his poor attitude
Not only was the player judged for his performance against Barcelona on Tuesday, 25 November, but he was also hammered for his arrival at Stamford Bridge.
Given said [Daily Mail]: “I think he rubs a lot of people up the wrong way, including myself. And this is probably me being a dinosaur, the way he’s turned up to one side and a chain hanging out, his attitude.
“His attitude when he gets taken off, he’s throwing his jumper, he’s kicking water bottles. He’s a young player, he has to get his knuckles down, and focus on his career.“
Of course, none of this will come as a surprise to Amorim, who knew all along that getting rid of the winger was best for United, and he can now watch on as the Blues discover the same issues.
