Ruben Amorim ‘to transfer list Andre Onana’ after horrific Man United twist
Andre Onana now needs to be dropped and sold by Man United following his latest error against Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League, according to supporters.
The goalkeeper endured an at best mixed debut campaign at Old Trafford during the 2023/24 season, leading to claims the club had overpaid for him.
He had looked much improved since the start of the 2024/25 campaign, until a poor error gifted a goal to Morgan Gibbs-White in the Red Devils’ 3-2 defeat to Nottingham Forest on Saturday (7 December).
Onana kept his place in the XI as Man United returned to action in Czechia on Thursday (12 December), but found himself making yet another costly mistake that did not go down well with the club’s fanbase.
Man United fans fume after another Andre Onana error
After a goalless first-half, it was the home side who took the lead shortly after a break, thanks largely to the Red Devils goalkeeper.
With the ball at his feet inside his penalty area, Onana looked to play out from the back, but his loose pass fell straight to the feet of Pavel Sulc.
He then stepped into the area before teeing up Matej Vydra to tap into an empty and put the visitors 1-0 down.
There have already been calls for Amorim to address the defensive issues at Old Trafford. This incident will not have quietened those, even after a Ramus Hojlund double turned things around for a 2-1 win.
Indeed, many Man United fans were far from impressed with Onana as they took to social media to react to the game, with many calling for him to be “dropped” immediately and then “listed for sale”, as his impact currently amounts to “playing against” his own team.
In other news, one Man United player left Ruben Amorim more frustrated than any other in the first-half against Viktoria Plzen.
