Russell Martin should avoid Rangers transfer for player who has refused to train
Russell Martin is looking into the free agent market to add to his Rangers squad amid their poor run of form.
Rangers’ win at Livingston was their first in the Scottish Premiership under Martin, thanks to a 94th minute winner by Max Aarons.
Tensions have been rising at Ibrox, with Rangers fans protesting against Martin, and they continued to call for his sacking even after Aarons’ winner at Livingston.
Despite 11 new signings in the summer, Martin continues to want to bolster his Rangers squad, with Mohammed Diomande’s poor form and Thelo Aasgaard’s underwhelming start to life at the club two concerns.

Rangers offered chance to sign Pierre Ekwah
As per the Daily Record, [30 September], Rangers and Celtic have both been offered the opportunity to sign midfielder Pierre Ekwah.
The 23-year-old has previously been with Sunderland in the Championship, and was most recently with French club Saint-Etienne before having his contract terminated.

Ekwah boycotted training at the club, as per jeunes footeux, [30 September], as the midfielder did not wish to play in Ligue 2 following relegation from the top tier of French football.
In Martin’s current position at Rangers, the former Southampton boss does not need to sign a player who will not be willing to give his all to the club.

Russell Martin warned amid Ekwah criticism
During his time at Sunderland, Ekwah had been criticised by the French press for his performances at the Black Cats.
French journalist Laurent Hess, as per the Sunderland Echo, said of Ekwah: “I find that Ekwah lacks consistency, speed, and that he is ‘monotone’ in what he does, always at the same pace.“
The signing would signal desperation from Martin to turn around his fortunes at the club following their busy transfer window.
For Martin, many of his signings have yet to make an impact, and 15 games into his tenure he would have expected a greater level of performance, and Ekwah is not the answer to fix that.
