Ryan Jack backed to agree Rangers deal amid ‘extra 10 per cent’ claim – pundit

Frank McAvennie has backed Ryan Jack to sign a new Rangers deal.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Celtic striker insisted that the Gers need to be careful with how many contracts are up at the end of the season.

The 30-year-old’s contract is up at the end of the season and is yet to agree an extension.

As quoted by the Daily Record (19 December), new boss Michael Beale insisted he is keen to keep hold of the Scotland international.

Beale added that Jack is in the best eleven players at the Light Blues this season.

The midfielder was in the starting lineup for the Bears for the 3-2 win over Aberdeen on Tuesday (20 December), but was subbed off early in the second half.

He also scored on Thursday (15 December) as the Gers beat Hibernian 3-2.

Other key players including Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent are also out of contract in the summer.

McAvennie backed Jack to pen an extension at Ibrox.

There are about four or five contracts up at the end of the season,” he told Football Insider.

I thought Jack was different class. A couple of years ago I said he was not ready for Scotland and then the following year he stepped it up.

Rangers

I can see the point in keeping Jack. He is a good, decent, solid player. You know what you are getting with him. He is a Rangers supporter which obviously gives him that extra ten per cent.

He is a good talent and I can understand keeping him.
