Ryan Jack: McLeish salutes Rangers star, makes ‘critical’ Ibrox teammate claim
Alex McLeish has tipped Ryan Jack to form a formidable partnership with Aaron Ramsey at Rangers after returning from injury.
The former Rangers manager, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested keeping the Scotland international fit is “crucial” to the Gers’ hopes of success on all fronts.
Jack, 29, missed the start of the season after undergoing surgery on a calf issue back in May.

He has since been in and out of the side with fitness and injury issues.
However, the midfielder has been a standout performer when he has featured and delivered a second emphatic midfield display in consecutive Thursdays in the 2-2 draw against Borussia Dortmund that secured a famous European win across two legs.
McLeish admitted Jack looks “like he’s never been away” and suggested fellow countryman could be the perfect foil for Ramsey when both are fit.
“He’s a player who plays with great efficiency,” McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.
“Giovanni (van Bronckhorst), I’m sure, would be very captivated by players like that in the squad.
“Jack’s come back into the team and produced some great form. It’s almost like he’s never been away.
“Keeping him fit is absolutely critical to Rangers’ chances in any competitions.
“I think Jack and Aaron Ramsey could play in the same team. Ramsey’s got that energy to go forward. Ryan Jack tried to get forward in the Dundee United game.
“They totally dominated that game but couldn’t find a breakthrough. Jack himself was through once or twice and had great chances to score.
“Ramsey could make a little difference. It would maybe give Jack the chance the chance to shore things up further back the pitch.”

Jack has only started twice in six league appearances this season.
Meanwhile, Ramsey has played just four times for Rangers since joining on loan last month.
