Ryan Jack: Rangers star is ‘way better’ than everyone else and putting teammates to shame – Ibrox expert
Alan Hutton has been blown away by Ryan Jack’s “outstanding” performances for Rangers since returning from injury.
The former Gers defender and Rangers TV pundit, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, admitted if the 29-year-old can stay fit can be “one of the first names on the teamsheet” for the rest of the season.
Jack has been a standout performer for Giovanni van Bronckhorst since returning from a serious calf injury.
He played a key role after starting both legs of Rangers’ aggregate win over Borussia Dortmund.
Hutton insisted Jack’s “all-round” ability is “way better” than any other midfielder at Ibrox.
He admitted the only “question mark” is whether the Scotland star can remain fit for the rest of the season.
Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “He’s been outstanding. Not only that, he makes Lundstram better as well, I think they play well together.
“Not only is Ryan Jack good with the ball, but he can also sniff out danger. He knows the right position, he can cover for full-backs, he sees what’s developing in front of them and closes space down.
“His all-round game is way better, I think, than any other midfielder at the club at the moment. He’s an integral part of that team going forward.
“That is the question mark above his head, can he stay fit? Because if he can, he’s the first, or one of the first, names on the teamsheet.
“He makes Rangers better, he makes Scotland better and he has to play as much as possible. It’s about keeping fit.
“If they can monitor him, watch what he’s doing, load him well then I don’t see why he can’t go on a really good run.”

Jack has made just nine appearances this season.
He played the full 90 minutes in Thursday’s 2-2 draw with Dortmund.
