Ryan Kent to snub January offers after Rangers source’s update – pundit
Ryan Kent will stay at Rangers until the end of the season despite speculation about a possible January move.
That’s according to former Leeds United striker Noel Whelan, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the winger’s future.
On Monday (28 November), sources told this site that Michael Beale’s appointment as Gers boss will have no bearing on Kent’s contract talks after failing to accept an extension.

The 26-year-old is out of contract at the end of the current season.
Despite being able to agree a pre-contract transfer in January, Whelan expects Kent to stay at Ibrox until the end of the season.
“Ryan Kent is in the driving seat, in my opinion,” Whelan told Football Insider’s Ben Wild.
“There has been a lot of noise about him coming back to the Premier League or a different challenge. He has reached the point in his contract where he might just want to see it through.
“Then he can have a little change of direction and see what happens. With his situation, there could be offers in January but it wouldn’t surprise me if he did stay until the end of the season so he can properly assess his options as a free agent.
“There will be clubs interested, we know that. There have been links before. He becomes an even more attractive prospect as a free agent too.
“So it’s one to keep an eye on but Kent has all the power in this one.”

Kent had one of his best campaigns when Beale was working under manager Steven Gerrard in the 2020-21 season.
He scored 13 goals and provided 15 assists across his 52 appearances and helped the Light Blues to their first league title in ten years.
