Ryan Sessegnon: Tottenham ‘praying’ for good news after ‘huge blow’ – Insider
Ryan Sessegnon’s latest injury blow is a “huge concern” for Tottenham and has come at the worst possible time.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Sessegnon, 21, was substituted off with his latest thigh issue at half-time in Spurs’ eventual 5-0 win against Everton last Monday (7 March).
As quoted by the Daily Mail last Thursday (10 March), Antonio Conte stated: “Maybe we’ll see him after the international break.”
On 15 March, Football Insider pundit and injury expert Ben Dinnery admitted Spurs will want to fix the problem that has “dogged” the defender for “a few years”.
Wenham admits it is a “huge concern” that Sessegnon seems to have broken down with a repeat injury,
“It’s a huge blow and it’s really frustrating,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“It’s the worst timing for him. This is the first time we have had a decent run out of him and he’s injured again.
“We finally have a manager who seems to put a lot of confidence in Ryan and now he’s broken down again.
“It is very frustrating because we haven’t had this from him before, he was playing really, really well.
“The huge concern for me is that it’s his hamstring again. It’s a repeat injury.
“Tottenham have to pray this is just a one-off.”

Sessegnon has made 16 appearances this season.
13 of those have come under Conte.
