Sadio Mane told to accept Chelsea offer as Pochettino plan revealed – Agbonlahor
Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Sadio Mane should make a Premier League return with Chelsea after his Bayern Munich move went sour.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed incoming boss Mauricio Pochettino would have to change the Blues’ style of play to suit the 31-year-old.
Sources told this site earlier this month (8 May) that Chelsea are planning to submit a proposal to Bayern Munich forward Mane, with Pochettino keen to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
It is believed the Liverpool legend himself wants a return to the Premier League after a mixed first season in Germany, and the Blues see him as a more realistic alternative to Victor Osimhen.
Mane has notched 12 goals and six assists in 38 games for Bayern this term – but was at the centre of controversy after a dressing-room clash with teammate Leroy Sane last month.
The 95-cap Senegal international scored 111 goals in 263 Premier League games during spells with Liverpool and Southampton.
Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “I don’t like the way it hasn’t worked for him in Germany.
“They do say that the grass isn’t always greener, and maybe the Premier League suited him a bit more.
“The directness of Liverpool suited him, and maybe at Bayern they don’t play that way.
“I think he should come back to the Premier League.

“But if he goes to Chelsea, they’ll have to change their style of play. At the moment they like to pass, pass, pass.
“If they change that, it could be a really good signing. But their style at the moment won’t suit Mane.”
