Salah ‘has done the business’ after major update on Liverpool contract talks – pundit

Mohamed Salah “is sitting pretty” and will not back down to Liverpool on his wages demands.

That is the view of former Arsenal and Everton striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the latest on the 29-year-old’s contract negotiations.

Speaking to Sky Sports last Sunday (19 December), Jurgen Klopp revealed “good conversations” have been had between player and club regarding an extension.

Liverpool

As revealed by Football Insider (11 December) the Reds are increasingly hopeful of agreeing a new deal for their star man despite his £500,000-a-week wage demands.

The Egypt international has just 18 months remaining on his current contract at Anfield.

When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of the latest, Campbell said: “Listen, Salah has done the business.

“It is up to the club to cough up the money.

“When you are doing the business you are sitting pretty and Mo Salah has done that. Liverpool, the ball is in your court.

“We will have to wait and see on this one because what Mo Salah wants, Mo Salah will get if Liverpool are to keep him. I’m sure it will get done.

“I’m not sure where they are in the negotiations but watch this space. Salah is sitting pretty right now though, that’s for sure.”
