Salah tipped to sign new Liverpool contract amid £145m reveal – pundit

Danny Mills has tipped Mohamed Salah to sign a new Liverpool contract.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Leeds United and England defender claimed Salah does not have many other options but to commit his future to Liverpool.

The Athletic‘s James Pearce reported on August 19 the Reds are in negotiations with the winger over a new deal.

As quoted by Marca back in March, the Egypt international refused to rule out a move to La Liga.

However, Mills has suggested that is unlikely given the situation at Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Fabrizio Romano reported on 26th August Madrid have submitted a €170million (£145million) bid for Kylian Mbappe.

Meanwhile, Barca are in the midst of a financial crisis that saw them lose Lionel Messi for nothing earlier this summer.

“Real Madrid are now looking at Mbappe, if not this season definitely next because he’ll be on a free,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“Barcelona are an amazing club but is as attractive as it once was? Probably not is the answer to that.

“He’s not going to go to anywhere in England, I don’t see that happening.

“PSG? They’re pretty loaded up front. They’re doing Ok for players!

“He’s a fantastic player but he’s too good for most and there aren’t too many places he could go.

“I would be surprised if he doesn’t sign a new long-term deal soon.”

Salah’s current deal is set to expire in the summer of 2023.

The 29-year-old has already scored once and provided two assists in two Premier League games this season.

In other news, Liverpool have been tipped to seal a centre-mid signing after Romano update.
