Savinho posts Man City message amid new contract update
Man City winger Savinho shared a message on social media with an update emerging around his future at the club.
Savinho was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham over the summer, with the Brazilian open to a potential exit for more first-team opportunities.
However, City decided against selling the winger, especially after a summer that has already seen Jack Grealish and Kevin De Bruyne leave the Etihad.
It is understood that Guardiola sees Savinho as a key player despite his rotational role in the squad last term, and the club hierarchy decided to retain the winger.
Now, an update emerged as Man City are set to award Savinho a new contract, despite some fans criticising the decision after the player’s summer stance.

Savinho shares positive message amid Man City contract news
Amid the contract talk, Savinho posted on social media, with a focus still on their latest game against Huddersfield. The winger netted in a 2-0 win in his first start of the season.
He posted a photo of himself kissing the City badge and captioned his post “DEUS” which translates to ‘God’ in English, alongside a heart emoji.
He saw plenty of reaction to the message with Grealish, who is on loan at Everton, comment: “Saviiii” and Matheus Nunes saying: “A whole lot of crack”.
Savinho has rarely featured for Man City as he has nursed an injury since the summer, but was awarded a start in their Carabao Cup victory, where they will now face Swansea City in the last 16.
He made 48 appearances last term but started 21 times in the league, which led to talk around his future. Still, he managed three goals and provided 12 assists in all competitions.
Tottenham’s Savinho setback is Man City’s gain
Tottenham submitted two bids for Savinho this summer, totalling £43million and £60m, but both were rejected by City.
Now, with the winger impressing on his first start, as well as contract talks underway, it appears City have emerged as the winners from the saga surrounding his future.
With Grealish out the side, and Rayan Cherki currently injured, Savinho’s return has come at the perfect time to prove himself, while Tottenham will have to look for alternatives in the coming windows.
