Savinho sends message to Man City fans after devastating blow
Savinho has sent a “difficult” message to fans after Man City’s devastating blow of being knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid.
Much of the squad has been silent following the 3-1 defeat at the Bernabeu, leading to a 6-3 aggregate loss to the La Liga giants, with players unlikely to know how to react or what to say.
The manager has been very vocal about looking ahead following the disappointment in Spain, though it has been suggested that the Man City players are getting tired of Pep Guardiola.
With Nico Gonzalez scoring City’s only goal on Wednesday (19 February), the frontline of Omar Marmoush, Phil Foden and Savinho was far quieter than expected, though it is the latter who has spoken out.

Savinho backs Man City to learn from Real Madrid defeat
Taking to his Instagram story [21 February], Savinho, translated into English, wrote: “Turn difficulties into lessons, mistakes into learning, defeats into steps and come out stronger from each situation.
“This is called resilience,” accompanied by a moody image of himself.
While it may not mean much to the supporters now, it takes guts for one of the newest players to write a message to those who felt let down by the performance.
Ruben Dias broke his silence amongst the Man City players, having ultimately made a mistake for the first of Kylian Mbappe’s goals on the night.

Pep Guardiola can still finish the season with FA Cup success
Football Insider verdict
The City players still have enough reason to keep fighting this season, with a spot in the top four of the Premier League still up for grabs, and even another FA Cup trophy.
With Championship side Plymouth Argyle up next, the Citizens have a great opportunity to lift their third FA Cup under Guardiola, which would be fitting should this be his final season at Man City.
There is plenty of work to do during the summer, with the future of five big-name Man City players possibly up in the air, and ending the campaign on a high note with more silverware would be perfect.
Supporters and players, understandably, have been miserable this season, and it could take quite an expensive transfer window to fix that.
Erling Haaland‘s presence, alongside Marmoush, means City could be set for the next decade through the middle, but with so many injuries, there are several problem areas to address.
