Scots pundit can’t believe Rocco Vata could quit Celtic in the next week

Celtic B team star Rocco Vata doesn’t have a future at the Scottish club.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Rangers defender Alan Hutton suggested the club hierarchy don’t see Vata in the future plans of the club if they are willing to sell him permanently.

The 18-year-old has entered the final year of his contract with the Glasgow giants and was starting to break into the first team last term under Ange Postecoglou and made four senior appearances.

According to Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph (18 August), it is increasingly likely that Vata will leave on a permanent transfer this summer.

The club are believed to have no plans to send the youngster out on loan for the current campaign nor offer him a contract extension.

Hutton thought it was strange to hear of Vata potentially moving on from the club after last season’s impressive performances.

I thought he was highly rated within the football club unless the manager has come in and seen something different,” he told Football Insider.

We do not know what is going on inside the football club but if they are willing to sell him on a permanent it means they do not see him having a future at the club or the fee was that good that they could not turn it down.

He broke through last season and I thought he was rated quite highly so it is a bit of a shock if they are going to get rid of him permanently.
