Scots pundit drops ‘big’ Rangers verdict after source’s bid reveal
Rangers boss Michael Beale is unable to attract big name players.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Celtic striker Frank McAvennie said there is no way the Gers are spending £3/£4milloin on individual players.
On Friday (21 July), Football Insider revealed that the Light Blues have tabled a £5m bid for Feyenoord striker Danilo after a bid was rejected last month.
Earlier this month (18 July), Michael Beale revealed that the club are pushing to get a deal done for Danilo as well as LAFC star Jose Cifuentes.
Beale was open about the fact that he wants to bring in both players this summer.
The Gers are in need of more firepower up front after losing Alfredo Morelos and Antonio Colak in the current window.
McAvennie suggested Rangers may struggle to bring in expensive signings.
“I do not know where they are getting all the money to buy these players but fair play to them,” he told Football Insider.
“They are getting business done and getting it done nice and early. They are getting the players bonded together which is always a good thing.

“But is Beale the best coach in the world? I heard he is a good tactician but I do not know if he would inspire me as a manager. I think he is very good tactically but you know he is not going to attract big names.
“People are saying they are spending £3/£4m on players but I can guarantee it is not that because they have not got that kind of money.“
