Sinclair delivers verdict on Celtic treble ahead of Aberdeen clash

By Will Butcher

Scott Sinclair has claimed Celtic are taking it one game at a time as the Hoops look to complete a domestic treble in Brendan Rodgers’ first season.

Celtic go up against Aberdeen on Friday night with only four games to play before the end of the 2016-17 campaign, finishing with the Scottish Cup final against the Dons on May 27.

Speaking to Celtic’s official Twitter account, former Man City star Sinclair claimed that it would be “fantastic” if Celtic completed the treble and will treat every game “as if it’s our last.”

“If we do the treble it would be fantastic, but we’ll just keep taking it one game at a time,” Sinclair said.

“We need to stay calm and go into every game as if it’s our last, and that’s what we’ll do on Friday night against Aberdeen.”

Joining Celtic in the summer from Aston Villa, Sinclair has starred for the Scottish champions and earned the Scottish PFA player of the year.

The 27-year-old has found the back of the net 25 times this season, as well as providing 11 assists during his 46 league and cup appearances.

Now, Celtic could finally complete the treble under Rodgers after confirming the Premiership title and the League Cup already.

However, they still have three league games to play before then, and will be keen to take momentum into the final fixture by gaining maximum points – starting with a win against Aberdeen on Friday.
