Scott Wright has no future at Rangers after source’s reveal – expert

Alan Hutton does not see Scott Wright’s future at Rangers.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers right-back said Wright could be tempted by a move to the Championship in the summer.

The 25-year-old will have two years left on his Ibrox contract at the end of the season after joining from Aberdeen in 2021.

Last week (3 April), sources told this site that the Gers are expecting to lose the winger in the summer window with English Championship and Scottish Premiership clubs circling.

On 18 February, Football Insider revealed that the Light Blues had knocked back interest in Wright during the January window.

Beale had been unwilling to part with Wright who he viewed as a key part of the squad but will now reassess where he sees Wright’s future.

When asked if Wright will stay in Scotland if he leaves Ibrox, Hutton told Football Insider:I think you would have to wait and weigh up your options.

Obviously if there is an opportunity possibly to go down south somewhere, the Championship or whatever, that could be a good move for him.

I do feel sorry for him in a way. He has had enough opportunities in the Rangers side. It is not like he has not been given minutes.

In flashes we have seen what he is capable of but I have to see it more. The attributes he has got, I think he could do it a lot more than we have seen him.

Rangers

I know that comes down to playing week in week out, he needs a run of games.

I just do not see his future at the club at this moment in time. Pre-season will be a big one, can he push to get in? If not, he maybe has to look elsewhere.

In other news, Rangers have ‘active interest’ in signing Greek star.
