Scott Wright in Rangers transfer U-turn as new footage emerges – pundit
Scott Wright doesn’t want to quit Rangers for Turkish side Pendikspor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Celtic striker Frank McAvennie urged Wright to move on this summer.
The 25-year-old has been closing in on a move to the Turkish club and was even interviewed by Sky Sports (17 July) at the airport on his way to Istanbul to finalise details over his move.
But the winger was spotted back in Glasgow and training with the Gers last week (25 July) in a video shared by Rangers TV.
Wright’s current contract at Ibrox runs until 2025 but he has struggled to make a mark on the first team.
Last season the former Scotland youth international made 34 appearances for Michael Beale’s side across all competitions but was in the starting lineup for just eight of those outings.
When asked what he made of Wright returning to training after seemingly agreeing a move, McAvennie told Football Insider: “He might have just gone over to see the club and it could take a little longer for things to move on.
“I would think he would want to get everything watertight. Or it might just be that he did not like where he was going to live, the town and decided not to go.

“Maybe he felt like he can’t spend the next three years there or perhaps the club have changed their mind.
“I do not think he is going to get in the first team [at Rangers] so he has got to move on, he might have just not liked where he was going.“
