Sean Dyche could land honour for ‘unbelievable’ Everton work – O’Rourke
Everton manager Sean Dyche is in the running for the manager of the season award, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke praised the boss for his “unbelievable” job at Goodison Park.
The Toffees secured their Premier League safety on Saturday (27 April) as they defeated Brentford 1-0 in Merseyside.
Idrissa Gueye scored the only goal of the game on the hour mark to keep Everton in the Premier League for another season.
Everton boss in running for honour
The Toffees have been deducted eight points this season for profit and sustainability breaches, with two separate punishments going their way.
Dyche has also had to deal with takeover issues, with finance expert Kieran Maguire telling Football Insider on Sunday (28 April) that there are still major concerns about 777 Partners and their takeover deal despite the group committing over £200million to the club.
The US investment firm agreed to acquire Farhad Moshiri’s stake in September, with the deal yet to be completed.
But on the pitch, Dyche’s players have overcome many odds to stave off relegation once more, with the club now on a three-match winning run.
Recent victories against Nottingham Forest, Liverpool and Brentford have helped push the Toffees to safety.

They can extend that run between now and the end of the season, with Everton finishing their Premier League campaign with matches against Luton Town, Sheffield United and Arsenal.
