Sean Dyche could now be ‘sacked’ by Nottingham Forest

Sean Dyche has been warned he must turn around the recent run of form at Nottingham Forest if he wants to remain safe in his position as manager.

That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Dyche‘s position is not safe despite what was a strong start to his tenure.

Dyche suffered just one defeat in his first seven games as Nottingham Forest manager, but have lost their last four games and have won just two of their last eight in the league.

Following Ange Postecoglou‘s nightmare tenure, they reverted back to a more pragmatic approach at the City Ground, but that may have already led to frustrations.

Forest lost 3-1 to Aston Villa last time out, and fans have slammed Dyche’s decision-making, although he is still considered unlikely to be sacked.

Sean Dyche faces Nottingham Forest pressure

Brown told Football Insider in October that Dyche is the “perfect” option for Nottingham Forest after their decision to part ways with Postecoglou.

The former scout, who has a wealth of experience working closely alongside elite-level managers including Sir Alex Ferguson for over a decade at Man United, insisted that amid some frustrations, Dyche may need to pick up their form.

I’m not sure you’re ever safe in a job at Nottingham Forest,” he told Football Insider.

“We’ve seen it already this season, it’s very difficult to predict what Marinakis is going to do, if things aren’t going well he could well pull the trigger.

“Their results recently haven’t been good and of course that brings pressure, especially when you are where Forest are in the league table.

“Obviously it seems like the fans are frustrated as well, that’s never a good thing, but it’s a style of play that they’ve been almost forced to accept.

“Dyche came in on the back of Postecoglou and won a few games, got them back to playing a more pragmatic style which everybody was buying into.

“Then they lose a few games and people start saying it’s boring and they start to turn, that’s just the nature of football management at the moment.

“When you’re winning everything is perfect, and when you’re losing everything is a nightmare.

“I think he has to pick up a win or two just to ease any of that pressure, but I don’t think there are any plans to sack him so soon, even given what they’ve done before.”

James McAtee could be set to leave Nottingham Forest

Despite a negative turn of results in recent weeks, there has been a lot of focus on one star name who has hardly been given a chance to impress at the City Ground.

James McAtee joined Forest from Man City in a deal worth up to £30million in the summer, but he has failed to make his name at the City Ground.

As a result, a number of clubs both in the Premier League and in Europe have been made aware of his situation and are assessing whether to make a move in January.

Brown told Football Insider on 30 December that McAtee could snub the likes of Leeds in favour of moving abroad during the January window.

The former scout insisted that a move abroad could now be favourable amid interest from Strasbourg after struggling since his move to Forest.
