Sean Dyche: ‘New Everton owners making sack decision’

Sean Dyche is facing growing pressure on his position as the Everton manager as the new owners are set to make a decision over his future.

As a result, the boss is thought to be safe in his role until the owners can officially complete their takeover as checks are still ongoing.

This is according to former Man United, Sunderland and Aston Villa scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected in the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the new owners want an “all-singing-all-dancing” boss in charge.

American billionaire Dan Friedkin struck a deal to purchase Farhad Moshiri’s 94.1% stake in the club in September, with the takeover subject to the Premier League’s fit and proper owners tests.

Reports say the takeover is now expected to be completed before the end of the year – meaning Dyche could be relieved of his duties before the January transfer window.

Pressure on the boss’ position has ramped up in the wake of a 1-0 defeat away from home against struggling Southampton despite a recent spell of good form.

Everton were unbeaten in five league games heading into the Southampton clash, but have won just two of their opening ten games of the season.

With the club sitting in 16th place, taking just two wins, three draws and five defeats so far, fans are beginning to grow impatient with Dyche.

Brown, who has experience working alongside struggling managers at the top level, has insisted the new owners will want to make the decision themselves ahead of their move to the brand-new Bramley Moore Docks stadium.

We’ll have to wait until the new owners come in,” he told Football Insider.

“I’ve heard they’ll want to make the decision because they may well want their own man in charge for when they move to the new stadium.

There are a few things that will come into it.

“They’ll have to weigh up how much it would cost to sack him and whether sacking the manager would solve any of their problems.

“I’d wager Dyche is getting the most he can out of the players and what they’ve got available.

The owners will also be asking themselves these questions, but there’s no doubt pressure is building.

If he wants to relieve that pressure, they need to win more games. If they can’t do that, he’ll always be under pressure like the other managers down that end of the table.

If the new owners feel they want to go in a new direction with all-singing-all-dancing football, then they’ll make that decision when they arrive, whenever that may be.
