Sean Dyche ‘ready to step in’ at Nottingham Forest after Ange Postecoglou sack decision
Ange Postecoglou remains under intense pressure at Nottingham Forest after a dismal start to his tenure as manager at the City Ground.
Postecoglou was appointed to replace Nuno Espirito Santo last month, but has failed to win any of his first seven games in charge, leading to calls for his head.
Football Insider revealed on 12 October that Nottingham Forest won’t sack Postecoglou immediately, but Evangelos Marinakis has not made up his mind long-term.
Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest have begun assessing alternatives to the boss, with a number of managers now on their radar to step in if they decide to pull the trigger.
Chief among those is former Everton boss Sean Dyche, 54, who has been out of work since leaving the Toffees in January and could now be set for a return to the Premier League.

Sean Dyche prepared to take Nottingham Forest job
Mick Brown told Football Insider on 13 October that Dyche is the “perfect” option for Nottingham Forest should they decide to sack Postecoglou.
The manager is now believed to be waiting in the wings for a decision to be made, with ongoing uncertainty about how long the manager will be given.
That is according to former Man United and Sunderland chief scout Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Dyche is keeping a close eye on the situation at the City Ground.
“It’s a job that will really appeal to Dychey,” he told Football Insider.
“He came through at Forest as a boy, and has a number of connections at the club, he knows more about the situation there than you and I ever will.
“I’m sure he’ll be keeping a close eye on what’s going on there with Postecoglou, and while nobody wants to see a fellow manager sacked, it’s something he’ll be aware of.
“He lives in Nottingham and regularly goes to watch their games, so it will likely be a case of him being ready to step in as soon as Postecoglou is out.

“Of course, it’s still possible that Postecoglou will save his job and he will have done very well if he manages to do that.
“But like I said, Dyche will know all about the situation and what’s going on there, and if he gets the call to step in, I’m sure he’ll be up for the task.”
Dyche previously turned down the Rangers job as he believed it wasn’t the right opportunity to step back into management, but would be tempted by Forest.
Ange Postecoglou sack update emerges at Nottingham Forest
The latest on Postecoglou’s future is that he will be given time to turn around his early fortunes at the City Ground, despite the growing calls for his head.
However, Football Insider revealed on 14 October that Postecoglou has been “unsettled” by the sack talk as rumours continue to surround his job security.
Meanwhile, Forest are slipping closer to the relegation zone, and their supporters have already lost patience with the former Tottenham boss.
Forest fans have called for Postecoglou’s sack, with large sections of the crowd singing “sacked in the morning” during their defeat to Midtjylland.
However, Football Insider revealed on 6 October that Postecoglou will be given time by Nottingham Forest’s hierarchy, who are hopeful he can turn things around.
