Sean Dyche signing plan on hold after new Everton takeover twist – O’Rourke

Sean Dyche is not currently able to plan for next season due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the Everton takeover.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed Dyche has prevented a potential “disaster” at Goodison Park after keeping the Toffees in the Premier League this season.

Everton have now mathematically secured their top-flight status for another campaign after picking up some form at just the right time.

Questions still remain over the club’s long-term future, however, with 777 Partners struggling to get its deal over the line despite agreeing to acquire Farhad Moshiri’s 94.1 per cent stake in the club for £500million last September.

Farhad Moshiri could hold fresh talks over Everton takeover

The US investment firm recently sent a delayed payment of £16million to Everton for the day-to-day operational costs, taking the total the company has loaned the club to more than £200million.

O’Rourke revealed it has perhaps been part of Moshiri’s “masterplan” to let the Miami-based company pay the bills to keep the club going before allowing another interested party to swoop in and take over at Goodison.

The Toffees securing Premier League football for another season is likely to help in any negotiations with potential new owners.

Football Insider revealed last month Moshiri has another bidder ready to take over the club should the deal with 777 fall through.

Dyche will be keen for matters to get straightened out behind the scenes over the coming weeks after he’s had to contend with an eight-point deduction and work under a restricted budget this season.

In other news, Everton will accept “significant” offer for star man.
