Sean Dyche wants star he’s already bid £45m for, Nottingham Forest’s season is really back on track now
Sean Dyche is keen to strike an eye-catching deal at Nottingham Forest in the upcoming January transfer window.
The former Burnley and Everton boss has only been in the job for just over a month at the City Ground, but he has already been able to restore plenty of optimism around the club.
Forest triumphed 3-0 over Malmo on Thursday night, as their latest victory in the Europa League stretched their current unbeaten run to five games in all competitions.
Dyche is already beginning to stamp his imprint on the team, and he is now lining up a move for a player who he has made advancements for in the past.

Nottingham Forest want huge Conor Gallagher transfer in January
Football Insider revealed at the end of October that Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim had sanctioned their pursuit of Conor Gallagher ahead of the January window.
The England hopeful is being heavily linked with a move back to the Premier League this winter, and there are certainly no shortage of suitors to facilitate that for him.
Nottingham Forest are firmly among that list, with Sky Sports recently reporting via their Transfer Centre that Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City are the only top-flight clubs that haven’t shown an interest in Gallagher.
The midfielder is understood to “not be satisfied” with the amount of gametime that he is receiving at Atletico Madrid, as he has started just twice in the league all season.

Any deal for Gallagher is likely to cost at least £35million, the same fee that Atletico splashed out to sign him from Chelsea in 2024.
Sean Dyche launched a bid for Conor Gallagher while he was at Everton
Dyche has already improved the situation at Forest in the early weeks of his reign, and he would surely have their season properly back on track if he could convince Gallagher to join them.
The Reds’ boss previously launched a bid worth £45m to try and sign the 25-year-old back in 2023 while he was in charge of Everton, according to The Guardian.
Chelsea may have denied him on that occasion, but that doesn’t look set to stop him from making a second attempt to get the midfielder within his grasp this time around.
Gallagher is tireless and energetic in the middle of the park, and the addition of a player of his quality could revitalise this Forest squad ahead of the second half of the campaign.
Dyche will be expecting to see his men pull away from the bottom three in the coming weeks, and if he could snatch Gallagher as well in January, then a top-half finish could easily become achievable again.
