Sergio Reguilon: Tottenham expert lambasts ‘stupidity’ after ‘terrible’ incident

Tottenham defender Sergio Reguilon has been “exposed” after a “terrible” performance against Man United on Saturday.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Tottenham lost 3-2 to Man United on Saturday in a major blow to their top-four hopes.

Reguilon, 25, failed to spring the offside trap as Ronaldo tapped home his second goal of the afternoon.

Wenham slammed Reguilon’s performance and insists he’s been exposed by Ryan Sessegnon’s recent impressive performances.

“The second goal was pure stupidity from Reguilon not playing the offside trap like everyone else,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“He was there putting his hand up rather than concentrating. He was terrible.

“He was very, very poor. Generally, he offers nothing going forward.

“I think he has been exposed a little bit because of how well Sessegnon was doing in that position.

“He was doing really well and now he’s injured, Reguilon can’t match how he was performing.

“So that’s a concern because we don’t know when Sessegnon will be back.

“I think we are a couple of decent full-backs away from being a top-four side.

“Reguilon hasn’t been good enough for most of this season now and we saw how much we missed Sessegnon on Saturday.”

As quoted by Football.London (10 March), Antonio Conte revealed a scan on Sessegnon brought “bad news”.

The left-footer is expected to be sidelined until April at the earliest.

In other news, an expert has claimed Tottenham have a ‘bargain’ deal in place after journalist’s update.
