£40,000-a-week player axed in seven changes: Celtic expected XI v Zenit

GOALKEEPER AND DEFENDERS

Dorus de Vries (Goalkeeper) – Expected to keep his place in the side as he is more experienced than Scott Bain, will need to perform better than he did in the 7-0 loss to Barcelona in 2016, his last start away in Europe
Mikael (Lustig) (Right-back) –  Could replace Cristian Gamboa, after some poor performances he was back to his best in the first leg against Zenit, can be an asset to the squad if he is able to stay fit
Jozo Simunovic (Centre-back) – Expected to replace Jack Hendry, was superb in the first leg against Zenit but who knows what player will show up on the night, is capable of being superb or dreadful
Kristoffer Ajer (Centre-back) – Celtic’s best defender and one of the few who played well against St Johnstone on Sunday, the 19-year-old is likely to be a key man in defence once again
Kieran Tierney (Left-back) – Expected to replace Calvin Miller, likely to play in his normal left-back role after playing further forward against Zenit in the first leg, can still burst forward at times but defending will be key
