‘Liability’, ‘Absolute nightmare’ – Celtic fans savage mainstay for performance v Rangers

Celtic supporters have taken to social media to hammer Mikael Lustig for his performance in the Old Firm derby draw with Rangers on Saturday.

The Swedish international, who has been a mainstay of the side in recent seasons, had a very poor start to game in the 0-0 stalemate, gifting Rangers possession and helping to create a chance for Alfredo Morelos, whose shot was saved by Craig Gordon.

That didn’t impress fans who were scathing with the left-back, with one describing him as a ‘nightmare’.

Here are some of the best reactions from Twitter to Lustig’s performance:

As for the game itself, after a frantic opening period the Hoops started to dominate, with Wes Foderingham denying both James Forrest and Scott Sinclair with fine saves.

Scott Sinclair missed a great chance to open the scoring at the end of the first-half, sidefooting past the post with the goal at his mercy.

Rangers had arguably the better chances in the second-half, with Craig Gordon making great saves from Tavernier and Morelos to keep the score at 0-0.

Morelos then missed a free header as Rangers continued to create chances.

The game ended 0-0 in a result which seems fair after Celtic dominated the first-half and Rangers dominated the second-half.

The draw keeps Celtic 11 points ahead of their rivals in the Scottish Premiership table.
