Sheffield United backed to spend £30m on 'three big signings' after Ramsdale reveal - Kenny
Sheffield United must use the money recouped from the sale of Aaron Ramsdale to Arsenal to bring in “two or three big signings”.
So says Blades icon Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider with the 23-year-old goalkeeper on the brink of signing for the Gunners.
This site first broke news yesterday (19 August) that Ramsdale had begun a medical with Arsenal.
That comes after United accepted a bid believed to be worth £24million rising to £30m with add-ons.
And Football Insider revealed today that the transfer could be finalised in time for him to feature against Chelsea on Sunday.
The goalkeeper was not named in the matchday squad as United were trounced 4-0 by West Brom on Wednesday.

And Kenny insists that the Blades’ poor start to the season means they have no choice but to use the Ramsdale cash to fund a “massive refresh”.
He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: “It’s a decent price but I’m disappointed they’re selling their best players.
“But that is good money, £24m plus add-ons. They need to fund that money back into the club and make two or three big signings.
“Looking at that team against West Brom, it’s obvious that the squad needs a massive refresh.
“If you are going to let Ramsdale go, you have to put that money into new transfers. Otherwise, there’s going to be hell on. The fans will not accept that.”
