Sky Sports fan poll places Tottenham duo in top 20 of PL best
By Harvey Byrne
Goalkeepers are often the subject of great debate in the Premier League with the likes of Loris Karius and Claudio Bravo coming under immense criticism this season.
However, it is one position that Tottenham are blessed in with both Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm proving a safe pair of gloves between the sticks.
Fans of the Premier League would seemingly agree also after Sky Sports ran a poll on their website to discover who the best goalkeeper in England’s top flight was.
The list contains 35 shot stoppers in total with Bravo placed at the bottom as the poll stands on 7 February, while Manchester United’s David de Gea tops the charts.
Spurs’ Lloris is ranked second with 16k votes to De Gea’s 23k, while Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois trails behind in third with 15k.
Teammate Vorm also joins in the top 20 in the poll with 4.1k votes to his name, placing him between We and Maarten Stekelenburg from Everton.
The stats would appear to back these claims as Tottenham have conceded the least amount of goals in the Premier League with just 16 goals against in 24 matches.
Of those, Lloris has conceded just nine from 21 matches, while Vorm has conceded three from four top flight encounters this season.
