
Sky Sports presenter quits following backlash of Tottenham comment

Rachel Riley has quit her job at Sky Sports after she received “hideous personal abuse” for her comments on Tottenham, according to a report.
The Times claim that the 31-year-old will not present Sky Sports’ Friday Night Football programme next year or appear on Sky’s Fantasy Football Club.
The Manchester United fan has walked away from her roles after receiving a backlash of online abuse following her comment on Spurs.
Riley described the north London club as a “proper bottle job” after their defeat to West Ham in the Premier League, which put Chelsea fully in the ascendancy to win the title.
It is understood that Spurs officials complained about her comments to the production team and she was absent from the show the following week.
The report details that Sky were willing to offer her a new 12-month contract when here deal expired, but she has decided to leave the role.
Spurs pushed Chelsea in the back-end of the season for the title and would have moved just a point behind their rivals if they had beaten West Ham, but instead lost all their momentum.
Manuel Lanzini scored the winning goal int he second-half for the Hammers as they produced one of their standout performances of a poor season.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side will hope to be in the mix again next for the league crown and proved at the end of the campaign that they are a force to be reckoned with, scoring 13 goals in the last two games away to Leicester and Hull respectively.
