Sky Sports pundit predicts Tottenham v CSKA Moscow

By Harvey Byrne

Charlie Nicholas has predicted a “convincing win” for Tottenham against CSKA Moscow on Wednesday evening at Wembley.

The Sky Sports pundit believes that Spurs will win 3-0 with star striker Harry Kane scoring the first goal.

He stated that he thinks Tottenham have a point to prove at Wembley, which has so far brought two defeats from two matches in the Champions League.

The north London club are already out of Europe’s elite competition as they sit in third place with four points from five games.

However, a win or a draw for Tottenham will see them move into the knockout rounds of the Europa League.

Now Nicholas believes that Spurs will have too much for the Russian side and that they will earn a victory with relative ease.

“It’s one these situations again where we talk about momentum,” wrote Nicholas in his Sky Sports column. “It’s been a pretty awkward few weeks but I don’t think Spurs have been playing poorly.

“They did well in the first half against Chelsea, played well at the Emirates and Harry Kane is scoring goals again which is going to give them belief. There’s also a wee bit of a pick-me-up in the contracts getting signed.

“I do think there will be a bit of anger coming through from how poor they’ve been in the Champions League, especially at Wembley.

“Dele Alli is starting to annoy me with his diving and he clearly believes he’s not actually diving when he gets the slightest touch.

“I can’t see anything other than a convincing Tottenham win.”

Despite Tottenham’s poor showing in the Champions League, they have lost just one game in the Premier League and they will be keen to bring that form into Europe.

However, CSKA are also performing well in the Russian Premier League and are currently sat in third place.

Both teams are coming off the back of heavy wins at the weekend, which saw Tottenham beat Swansea 5-0 on Saturday, while CSKA earned a 4-0 victory over Ural.
