Sky Sports pundit: This is type of PL player Leeds should sign, will come at a premium

David Prutton believes that Leeds United must sign a new striker in the January transfer window and has suggested that they should set their sights on a loan signing from the Premier League.
Leeds are yet to convincingly fill the void left by Chris Wood when he moved to Burnley in the summer with summer signings Pierre-Michel Lasogga and Jay-Roy Grot failing to coming anywhere near replacing the goals lost when the New Zealand international left.
Kemar Roofe has now emerged as the go-to striker for Thomas Christiansen, but his inconsistency has left fans worried about their promotion bid derailing yet again through a lack of goals.
Now, Sky Sports pundit Prutton has suggested that Leeds must try and swoop for a loan striker from a Premier League club in order to keep the goals flowing in the second half of the season.
However he has suggested that an improvement on someone like Lasogga will come at a premium.
“Leeds have had a nice spread of goals around the team but it would be good for them to have someone that can share the burden going forward,” he said on the Yorkshire Evening Post website.
“You have got Pierre-Michel Lasogga there, but if you have got someone who is more mobile and who can link play a little bit better then I think that’s what you would be looking at.
“Will those types of strikers be at premium? Yes. But maybe you look up into the Premier League and look for a loan striker to be able to help that.”
Christiansen has remained vague when asked about Leeds’ transfer plans for this month with the Elland Road boss suggesting that there will not be much movement.
However two signings have already been confirmed by the Whites with Aapo Halme and Yosuke Ideguchi both being snapped up with the view to them starring in the future.
In other Leeds United news, this Whites centre-back is ready to quit Elland Road and is already being eyed up by another Championship side.
