‘Something isn’t right’ at Rangers as Alfredo Morelos tipped to leave Ibrox within days – pundit

Something isn’t right” at Rangers after Alfredo Morelos was dropped from their Champions League squad.

That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider bout the Columbian’s future.

As quoted by the BBC (23 August), Giovanni van Bronckhorst confirmed the striker has now been left out of the squad taking on PSV Eindhoven tonight.

The manager added that Morelos needs to prove that “he wants to play for Rangers”.

This came after the 26-year-old was sent off for the Gers in the 2-2 draw with Hibs on Saturday (20 August) for an elbow on Marijan Cabraja.

It is also said that contract talks are on hold with less than 12 months remaining on his current deal.

When asked if a transfer now may be best for all parties, Kenny told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild, “yeah, there is a possibility. Something isn’t right.

“To leave him out of the squad altogether for the PSV match, it shows you that something isn’t right. He let the team down at the weekend.

“He’s come on as a sub and got sent off. To be totally left out and not even on the bench says to me that something isn’t right.

“With less than 12 months left on his contract, there is the possibility that, if someone is interested, then they could move him on.”

Rangers

Morelos has made four appearances for Rangers in all competitions this season.

He has scored once.
