Son will be excited as Nuno wants West Ham favourite at Tottenham - Agbonlahor

Gabby Agbonlahor has tipped Jesse Lingard to thrive at Tottenham if he was to complete a move.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward claimed Heung-min Son and Lucas Moura would love to play alongside the England international.

Football Insider broke the news on 10 July Nuno Espirito Santo wants Lingard as one of two Man United player in a £100million cash-plus-players exchange for Harry Kane.

West Ham fear Tottenham can blow them out of the water in the race for Lingard’s signature and a source has updated to tell Football Insider that Spurs’ interest remains strong.

Lingard scored nine times and contributed five assists on loan at West Ham last term.

He played a key role as the Hammers secured qualification for next season’s Europa League.

However, Lingard’s long-term future is yet to be determined as he has 12 months left to run on his Man Utd contract.

Asked whether the 28-year-old would thrive in north London, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “I think he would.

“They’re missing that sort of player in that position, who can get into holes and run through the middle.

“It would help the likes of Son and Moura on the wings. It wouldn’t be a bad signing.

“But I still don’t think Harry Kane will go. Someone says to me Daniel Levy will outprice clubs.”

Football Insider exclusively revealed on April 9 Kane has told friends he wants to quit Spurs this summer.

But Tottenham are in a position of strength as he has three years left to run on his current contract.

In other news, Tottenham are “expected” to seal multiple “top-class” signings after Levy news.
