While doubts over Campbell’s loyalty to the club remain, there can be no questions over how dedicated Ledley King was to Spurs.
A one-club star, the centre back also left Tottenham fans wondering ‘what if?’ after chronic knee injuries left him nursing himself through his career.
The fact he was unable to take part in training but still competed at the highest level shows the talent the 21-cap England star had, and there is no doubt he would have been considered among the very best the country had produced had he been at full fitness all the time.
With one League Cup winners medal, and two runners up awards, under his belt, he can at least look back on his career having tasted some success, and there will be few who will question his talents.
Could – and perhaps should – be higher on this list, had injuries not let him down.
