Sorry Harry, Kane lagging behind in top five greatest Tottenham homegrown stars

Glenn Hoddle

Appearances: 490 – Goals: 110

Hoddle is not just one of Tottenham’s greatest ever homegrown stars, he is one of the club’s best ever players.

An attacking midfielder with an eye for goal, he was a key member of one of the Lilywhites’ most successful ever periods, picking up no less than three major titles during the 1980s, including two successive FA Cups, while 44 of his 53 England caps came while with Spurs.

Personal achievements were also commonplace; Hoddle was a near ever-present in the PFA team of the year selection between 1980 and 1987, as well as picking up the young player of the year award as a 22-year-old.

A club legend, he sits fourth on the list for most appearances, and his mediocre spell as manager will not take the shine off what was a glittering career at his boyhood club.

In other Tottenham news, fans will be delighted at the club’s disappointment over a defensive giant.
