Sorry Henrik, Parkhead hero misses out on No 1 spot in five greatest-ever Celtic players

1. BILLY McNEILL

Quite simply ‘Mr. Celtic’. Captained the Hoops to their European Cup final victory over Inter in 1967 and to nine league titles in a row amongst a total of 23 honours won with the club.

Managed the club to a series of league titles in the early 1980s, and returned to the club in 1987 to manage the Bhoys to the famous ‘Centenary Season’ league and cup double.

Will not go down as the most skilful player in the history of the Hoops, but when it comes to the most important, the most influential, and most of all the best, it has to be McNeill.

In other Celtic news, the Bhoys have reportedly discussed a new deal with Kristoffer Ajer
