‘Sorry, is that real?’ – West Ham fans baffled by what they’ve read about Freddie Potts

Freddie Potts has faced a few difficult weeks as West Ham’s prospects of securing Premier League safety dwindle this season.

Despite West Ham beating QPR in extra time to reach the FA Cup fourth round, supporters are still extremely unhappy, with the Hammers winning just one of their last 11 matches.

Football Insider understands that Nuno Espirito Santo could have just four games to save his job, and it is not just the manager who is facing the wrath of fans at the London Stadium.

Lucas Paqueta wants to leave West Ham, leaving fans infuriated, but it is Potts‘ recent performances that have left many questioning whether the 22-year-old is ready for first-team football.

Freddie Potts reveals his ‘dream dinner party’ guests

Not just his performances on the pitch, but supporters have also had a huge laugh at the academy product after his “dream dinner party” guests were revealed in a matchday programme.

Speaking to the club ahead of the QPR clash, he said, “I think Donald Trump would be quite interesting to speak to. I think speaking with Trump might get a bit too deep, so I would also invite Ricky Gervais.

“Because he’d lighten the mood up a little bit. Cristiano Ronaldo and Elon Musk would be quite cool to speak to, as I listen to a lot of his podcasts, and he seems quite cool.”

Also adding that he would add Ed Sheeran to the list, one supporter labelled him an “absolute idiot,” with many just left absolutely baffled by his answers.

What has Nuno Espirito Santo said about Potts so far?

While it has been a very difficult campaign for all involved at the London Stadium, the emergence of an academy graduate should be seen as a huge positive for the club.

Back in November, Nuno said, “The midfielders [Potts and Mateus Fernandes] work hard, and they are complementing each other. In the middle of the park, we have a lot of good options, and the boys are doing really well.”

Fernandes has also been an incredible addition to the midfield. Despite being just 21 years of age, he has shown a rare maturity in the middle of the park, one which has helped the Hammers immensely.

Fans are clearly just trying to find some humour amongst all the struggles and pressure this season, with relegation down to the Championship looming for the first time since the 2011-12 campaign.

Potts could still have a huge role to play in the second half of the season, but going by social media, many want the youngster replaced until the pressure is taken off his shoulders.
