Source: Man United ‘definitely’ want to sign Christos Mouzakitis
Man United are set to push Real Madrid to the signing of Olympiacos 18-year-old Christos Mouzakitis.
The Red Devils are working tirelessly to secure a new midfielder to strengthen Ruben Amorim‘s side in January ahead of the second half of the season.
Sources told Football Insider that Atletico Madrid would be open to selling Conor Gallagher to Man United, who has been identified as a potential option.
Conversely, Man United have been told that an offer of £50million for Joao Gomes would be accepted by Wolves, if Amorim was to pursue the Brazilian.
However, the red half of Manchester could explore the route of youth as they hone in on Greece international Mouzakitis.

Man United and Real Madrid to fight it out for Christos Mouzakitis who is set to join ‘one of the biggest teams in Europe’ in the future
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 18-year-old is attracting an array of admirers from across Europe.
This includes Real Madrid, with Xabi Alonso a huge fan of Mouzakitis, identifying him as a long-term addition to his midfield.
Speaking on the Inside Track podcast over the intense race for the number 96’s signature, I explained: “I’m sure he’s definitely on the radar at United.
“He’s on the radar of probably every big club in Europe right now. He’s one of the most talked about young players in world football.
“He recently won the Golden Boy Award for the best young under-21 player in Europe. So he beat some big names to win that one.
“He’s obviously very highly thought of. He’s playing regularly for Olympiacos in the Greek Super League and also in the Champions League and he’s already an international at the age of 18.
“There’s real high hopes for this boy that he could become one of the best players ever to come out of Greece. So, no surprise that United are being linked with him.
“He does seem a player who will eventually move on and move to one of the biggest teams in Europe as well.
“United we know do need to reinforce midfield so Mouzakitis is just the latest player to be linked with them.
“Olympiacos don’t really want to sell him just yet and, if they are to let him go, it’s going to be for a fee in excess of £30million at least. So, I’m not sure United will be doing that in January.”
Man City set to prevail in battle for Elliot Anderson
The Red Devils have been constantly linked with the world’s best and brightest midfielders, yet may lose out to their fiercest rivals for one of their long-standing transfer targets.

Former Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown exclusively told Football Insider that Man City are planning to beat Man United to the signing of Elliot Anderson.
The Nottingham Forest man has been one of the best players in the Premier League this season and is on course to be a key man for Thomas Tuchel at the 2026 World Cup.
The Cityzens financial power is expected to greatly assist in the battle for the Englishman with their neighbours set to miss out on the number eight.
