Sources: Altay Bayindir unhappy at Man United as summer transfer plan revealed

Altay Bayindir is unhappy with his role at Man United and will seek a move away from Old Trafford when the summer transfer window opens.

The 27-year-old started the season as the first-choice goalkeeper under Ruben Amorim but was quickly displaced by Senne Lammes following his £18million arrival.

Bayindir has featured just 17 times across all competitions since joining Man United in 2023 and is now keen to move on in search of first-team football.

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, all parties are now keen for him to move on at the end of the season.

Man United believe he is not part of their plans for the future and, given his unhappiness and frustration with his role, feel the time has come to move him on.

Altay Bayindir pushing to leave Man United

Football Insider revealed in October that Lammens was pushing Bayindir for his place in the starting XI at Old Trafford after he impressed on his debut against Sunderland.

The Belgian goalkeeper eventually established himself as the firm first-choice and has continued to prove himself after the arrival of Michael Carrick.

That has only led to more frustrations from Bayindir, who is now actively looking to move on when the window opens, and United are happy to oblige.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “I wouldn’t be surprised. I think Bayindir obviously will have been frustrated at what’s happened at Man United.

“He obviously started the season at the starting goalkeeper for United, but once Lammens has got his nod he’s taken the opportunity and is undoubtedly the number one.

“I think Bayindir has been frustrated at Old Trafford for quite a while now. He’s found himself playing a bit-part role as backup and cover.

“I think the player himself would be very much open to a move away from Man United in summer to get his career back on track. He wants to be playing regularly at this stage of his career.

“Bayindir has been keen to get out and move on for the sake of his career for a while. There was talk he could have moved in January, but United didn’t have cover.

“I think summer gives the right time for everybody to sort out everything. can bring in cover and Bayindir can move on in search of regular first team football.”

Jadon Sancho update emerges at Old Trafford

Bayindir is not the only player likely to leave Old Trafford this summer, with speculation ongoing surrounding the future of Jadon Sancho.

The England international is currently on loan at Aston Villa, but sources say they are unlikely to make his loan move permanent at the end of the season.

Football Insider revealed on 24 February that Sancho is keen to re-join Borussia Dortmund as a return to the Bundesliga is now his likely destination.

The German giants have been linked with a fresh move for their former winger of late, and it is understood that the 25-year-old would be interested in returning.

Sancho is attracting interest from a number of clubs across Europe and in the Premier League, but a reunion with his former club could be the perfect move.
