Sources: Aston Villa goalkeeper Filip Marschall agrees deal to join new club
MK Dons have agreed to sign Aston Villa goalkeeper Filip Marschall, sources have told Football Insider.
The 20-year-old will join the Buckinghamshire club on a loan deal running until the end of the 2023-24 campaign.
Marschall has been a regular on the bench for Unai Emery’s side so far this term but is now set for a League Two move.
The shot-stopper, who is eligible for Poland and England, even played 90 minutes as Aston Villa drew 1-1 against Zrinjski Mostar in the Europa Conference League last month.
His other game time this season has come in the EFL Trophy for Villa’s Under-21 side.
Marschall is now set for his third senior loan after spells at non-league Gateshead in the 2021-22 and 2022-23 campaigns.
He played 39 times in total for the National League side, conceding 41 goals and keeping 14 clean sheets.
The 2003-born star is under contract at Villa Park until June 2027 following his most recent extension in 2022.
Marschall has an FA Youth Cup winners medal after forming part of the side which beat Liverpool’s Under-18 side 2-1 at Villa Park in the 2021 final.

MK Dons sit seventh in League Two and are chasing a play-off berth as they target promotion back to the third tier at the first time of asking.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa – who have World Cup winner Emiliano Martinez between the sticks – sit third in the Premier League and have mounted an unlikely title challenge this term.
In other news, new Aston Villa clause revealed – they could land £17million within months.
