Sources: Aston Villa in multi-club talks to seal Tammy Abraham signing as compensation update drops

Aston Villa are in discussions with both Roma and Besiktas regarding a potential deal for Tammy Abraham, sources have told Football Insider.

The striker is currently on loan at Besiktas from Roma, and the Turkish club are demanding compensation if they are to forfeit their £11million obligation to buy him in the summer.

Besiktas boss Sergen Yalcin is understood to have already given the green light to Abraham’s exit, but sources are now indicating that they are keen to sign a replacement if they are to let the Englishman leave.

The deal is currently being considered as a “tough” agreement for Aston Villa to strike, and given the lack of time available to them in January, they are also considering other options to strengthen their attack at the same time.

Tammy Abraham’s record since leaving the Premier League

Abraham is held in high regard by Aston Villa fans after the role he played in helping to secure their promotion back to the Premier League in 2019.

The striker netted 26 Championship goals for Dean Smith’s side as they secured promotion via the play-offs, before he became a key figure for his parent club Chelsea the following season.

Abraham has been away from the Premier League since he left for Italy back in 2021, but he has struggled to replicate the prolific form that saw him hit 27 goals in his debut campaign for Roma.

The 28-year-old managed 10 goals and six assists in all competitions during a loan at AC Milan last year, and has seven strikes to his name in the Turkish Super Lig so far this term.

Abraham hasn’t featured for his parent club in over a year, and his previous association with Villa could be crucial when it comes to them trying to strike a deal.

Aston Villa green-light striker exit of their own

Football Insider exclusively revealed last week that Aston Villa are happy to sanction a loan exit for Rory Wilson this month, as one striker could make way for another at Villa Park.

Abraham could potentially join the senior ranks to bolster the options at the top of the pitch for Unai Emery, as Wilson prepares to take the next step in his career.

The young Scot is tipped to have a big future ahead of him with the Villans, who are now ready to allow him to temporarily leave in order to gain first-team experience in the second half of the campaign.

There is interest in Wilson from clubs in Belgium, Austria, Denmark and Norway, with the starlet still under contract with his parent club until at least 2027.
