Aston Villa will listen to offers for Calum Chambers this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The defender, 28, is on the fringes at Villa and has struggled for game time this season.

It is believed that Unai Emery does not see Chambers as part of his first-team plans and will let him go for the right offer.

The former Arsenal and Southampton star played the entire second half of Villa's Saturday win over Chelsea and impressed in a fine team display.

But that will not change Emery's mind as he looks to free up funds for new signings.

Chambers joined Villa Park on a free transfer from Arsenal last January and his current contract runs until 2025.

The centre-back began his career in Southampton's youth setup before joining the Gunners back in 2014.

Following his arrival at the Emirates, Chambers spent two season on loan at Middlesbrough and Fulham before quitting permanently last year.

Since his arrival in Birmingham, the defender has made 23 appearances for the club and has scored just one goal in those outings.

Last month (23 March), Football Insider revealed that the Villans are plotting to sign Southampton centre-back Mohammed Salisu.

The 23-year-old could be available for £25million in the summer and Villa are keen to draw him away from the relegation-threatened side.

Emery is also awaiting the return of Diego Carlos who joined from Sevilla last summer but only made two appearances before suffering a nasty injury which has kept him sidelined for most of the season.
