Sources: Aston Villa to pounce for Vlahovic as Juventus sale edges closer

Aston Villa are preparing to make a move to sign Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, sources have told Football Insider.

The Midlands club are keeping a close eye on the availability of the 23-year-old forward, who could push to leave the Italian giants at the end of the season.

It is understood that Juventus have an agreement in place with Vlahovic that he can move on this summer if they fail to finish in the top four in Serie A or win the Europa League.

Juventus currently sit third in the league table, but only two points separate them from fifth-placed AC Milan with five games remaining in the calendar.

While Villa won’t be able to offer Vlahovic the Champions League football he desires, the Premier League outfit are willing to offer him a lucrative deal and make him the face of the long-term project at Villa Park.

Villa owners Wes Edens and Nassef Sawiris are ready to back Unai Emery with a handful of ambitious transfer targets after an impressive end to the 2022/23 campaign under the Spaniard.

A new striker has been made a top priority, with Emery pushing the Villa board to add more firepower and depth to his side as they prepare for the possibility of European football next season.

Man United are targeting Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic

Vlahovic ended an 11-game goal drought in Serie A on Wednesday (3 May) by scoring his 12th goal of the season in a 2-1 win over Lecce.

He has endured an underwhelming season in Turin after scoring 29 goals in all competitions for Fiorentina and Juventus in 2021/22.
